Odia Action Film ‘Monster’ Wraps Up Shooting; Set for October 2026 Release

Bhubaneswar: The makers of the upcoming Odia action film Monster have officially wrapped up shooting and announced that the film will hit theatres in October 2026.

Lead actor Aaditya Mohapatra shared the milestone on social media, writing, “From January 5 to July 5… A journey of passion, dedication and teamwork. It’s a WRAP!” The announcement marks the completion of the film’s six-month shooting schedule.

Along with confirming the wrap-up, the makers revealed that Monster is slated for a theatrical release in October 2026, setting the stage for one of the year’s most anticipated Odia action entertainers.

Directed by Sudhanshu Mohan Sahoo, the film stars Aaditya in a rugged action avatar, a stark departure from his romantic debut in I Love You 2. Newcomer Dibyajyoti Tripathy plays the female lead, while veteran actress Mahasweta Ray also features in a key role.

The project holds special significance for Aaditya, who has not only taken on the lead role but has also written the story and screenplay. The film promises a high-octane cinematic experience with stylised action sequences captured using a robotic arm film camera, a technology rarely seen in Odia cinema.

Produced by Debraj Bidhar under the banner of Gopinath Motion Pictures, Monster has been creating buzz since its title was unveiled during Ganesh Puja last year. With filming now complete and the release locked for October 2026, the team is expected to begin an extensive promotional campaign in the coming months.
