Bhubaneswar, July 1: The official trailer of the much-awaited Odia film The Millet Diary was unveiled on Tuesday at Hotel Presidency in Bhubaneswar, building anticipation ahead of its theatrical release on July 16 during the Rath Yatra festival.
Produced under the banner of Infyson Entertainment, The Millet Diary explores the rich history of millet, its medicinal value, and Odisha’s traditional Kabiraji healing practices, while weaving together a timeless love story set against the backdrop of ancient Kalinga.
The trailer offers glimpses of a narrative where millet is portrayed not merely as a food grain but as a symbol of civilization, resilience, and cultural pride. Combining history, science, folklore, and romance, the film seeks to celebrate Odisha’s indigenous heritage and the significance of Shree Anna in sustaining communities through challenging times.
The film features Sidhanta Mahapatra, Abhishek Panda, Shibani Sangeeta, Raj Rajesh, and Sritam Das in key roles. Abhishek Panda will be seen portraying a sanitation worker, while the story also highlights the unwavering determination of a traditional healer and his faith in indigenous medicine.
The supporting cast includes Kuna Tripathy, Shakti Baral, Sushant Dashmahapatra, Revansh Mohanty, Santu Nije, Kanchan, Rajashree, Deepak, Devika, and Shreya.
Based on a story by JRM, the film is directed by Rajendra Mohanta. The screenplay and dialogues have been penned by Dillip Bisoi and Uttam Kumar, with music composed by Prem Anand. Cinematography has been handled by Biswajit Kuldi and Ishwar Barik, editing by Rajesh Dash, post-production by Biswajit Paital, and publicity by Pranay Jethi.
