‘Lahari’ to be Screened at Melbourne Film Festival

Bhubaneswar: After being screened and awarded at the Kolkata International Film Festival, and receiving praise from both jury and critics, ‘Lahari’ continues its successful journey. The film has now been officially selected for the upcoming Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) to be held next month in Melbourne, Australia.

The IFFM aims to showcase Indian diversity, creative arts, and cultural richness on a global platform. This year marks the 16th edition of the festival, where renowned actor Aamir Khan will be attending as the chief guest. Among several regional films selected for screening, the nomination of ‘Lahari’ holds special significance. It is undoubtedly a moment of pride and honor for Odisha.

The internationally acclaimed and National Award-winning director Amartya Bhattacharyya has directed this film, while it has been produced by Odisha’s renowned young producer Jhilik Bhattacharyya.

The film features performances by Chaudhury Jayprakash Das, Chaudhury Bikash Das, Smruti Mahala, Deepanwita Das Mahapatra, Sushanta Mishra, Swastik Chaudhury, and Jane Dwyer in various roles. The music is composed by Kishalay Roy, with vocals by Gaurav Anand and Navya Jayati. The sound design has been done by Adeep Singh Manik.

Presented by Jhilik Motion Pictures, the film’s direction, story, lyrics, choreography, and editing have all been handled by Amartya Bhattacharyya.
