Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s popular entertainment channel Zee Entertainment Enterprises Zee Sarthak is set to bring a fresh twist to its much-loved reality show ‘Raja Queen 2026’ by taking the competition back to the villages this season.
For the first time in the history of the show, the gala round will be organised with the theme “Gaonre Heba Gala Round” (The Gala Round Will Be Held in Villages).
Under this unique concept, contestants and mentors will directly perform in rural settings, giving viewers a closer glimpse of Odia culture, traditions and the simplicity of village life.
During the special round, participants will be tested through a series of village-based tasks such as plucking tomatoes from fields, cooking on traditional mud stoves with the help of villagers, drawing water from wells, and several other challenges. These activities are expected to test their physical strength, adaptability and practical skills.
Adding to the entertainment quotient, comedian Papu Pom Pom will bring his signature humour to the show. The gala round will also feature special appearances by Ollywood stars Elina Samantray and Pupinder Singh as judges, while anchors Sujit Paikray and Chandini will host the programme.
Rahul Rao, Chief Channel Officer of Zee Sarthak, said the channel has always remained deeply connected with Odisha’s art, traditions and rural roots. He said the village-themed gala round is not just a show but a tribute to the state’s rich rural lifestyle, and expressed confidence that the contestants’ hard work and the charm of village simplicity would win hearts.
Popular television pairs from Zee Sarthak serials will also join as mentors. They include Abhi and Mani from Tu Khara Mu Chhai, Dev and Archana from Sathi Saat Janmara, Sambhav and Banshu from Suna Jhia, and Sai and Shraddha from Mu Nuhen Mu Tuma Bina.
The much-awaited gala round will premiere on April 25 at 6:30 PM exclusively on Zee Sarthak. The show will continue every Saturday and Sunday at 9:30 PM.
Over the years, Raja Queen has emerged as a major platform for aspiring young women, helping many contestants fulfil their dreams and making several successful actresses part of the Ollywood industry.
