Zee Sarthak to Premiere Superhit Odia Film Chakranta on May 3

Bhubaneswar: Popular Odia entertainment channel Zee Sarthak is set to premiere the superhit Odia crime-thriller film Chakranta for the first time on television on May 3 at 6:30 PM.

Known for bringing audience-favourite films to households across Odisha, the channel will now showcase Chakranta, a gripping story of struggle, courage and women empowerment.

The film revolves around Naina, an innocent village girl who comes to Bhubaneswar to fulfil her dreams but gets trapped in a murder case. Betrayed by her lover and left alone, she faces immense challenges while fighting to prove her innocence.

Packed with suspense, romance, betrayal, crime and psychological twists, the mystery thriller had earlier won appreciation from audiences in cinema halls across Odisha. The television premiere is expected to draw strong viewership.

The film is based on a story by Disha Padhi, produced by Sourabh Padhi and directed by Pinu Nayak. Lead roles are played by Subhashish Sharma and Bhumika Das, whose performances are considered major highlights of the film.

The supporting cast includes Harihar Mahapatra, Jayaprakash Choudhury, Shubham Padhi and Pradyumna Lenka.
Music for the film has been composed by late Abhijit Majumdar.

On the occasion, Zee Sarthak Chief Channel Officer Rahul Rao paid tribute to the composer, saying his music is the heart of the film and will deeply touch viewers.

He added that Chakranta is a small tribute from the team to the legendary composer for his invaluable contribution to the Odia music industry.
