Versatile actor Satya Ranjan makes his mark in Suka Bhai Ra Sholay

Recently-streamed Odia movie Suka Bhai Ra Sholay which was streamed at AAO Nxt OTT platform has been getting a huge response from the film lovers from the state. With the success of the movie, its actor Satya Ranjan is now making his presence felt in the big screen.

The Snehasis Das-directed movie is based on Sukha bhai of Ganjam, who is heavily inspired by Amitabh Bachchan’s character from the classic movie Sholay and always sees himself as Jai from the movie and dressed as him.

Like the original movie, he falls in love with a widow from his village. But in his love story comes the villain Rashid Khan. Also, at this juncture, Sukha bhai lost his father too. How faces myriad problems as Jai is the story.

The movie is directed by Snehasis Das and produced by Kaushik Das and Ram Patnaik. The film stars Satya Ranjan as Sukhabhai and other key roles played by Anubha, Sukant Rath, Dharitri Khandual, Jay Prakash Das, and others.

This is the first lead role for Satya Ranjan in Odia movie. In his long career he had done the versatile actor has worked in many Hindi movies including Sonchiriya, Dhoomketu, Daawat-E-Ishq, Airlift, The Legend Of Michel Mishra and Bengali movie Alifa, which has won national award, among others. Satya Ranjan from Bhadrak had started his career in 2010.

He said, “I have never dreamt of being a big star. My only dream is to work as a professional actor and learn new things on set. I read and watch a lot of movies to make progress in this regard.” He said that he got this role after being contacted by makers about this movie and who told him to send some clips of his works. After he selected some pieces of his work, he was selected for the movie.

Satya is also excited about his future project The Jengaburu Curse with Nila Madhab Panda which will be streamed at Sony Liv. The web series is set to be shot in Bhubaneswar, Konark and Keonjhar. The web-series is an environmental thriller. It is related to Odisha and based on Odisha tribes, but mainly it’s all about environment.
