Two-Day classical dance festival Margi kicks off in Bhubaneswar

A mega classical dance festival christened Margi kicked off in Bhubaneswar today. This is a two-day event celebrating classical dance. It witnessed the conglomeration of several artistes and art lovers from the state as well as from other parts of the country too.

The event took place at Rabindra Mandap today. During the maiden day evening, New Delhi-based international Odissi dancer Padma Shrui Ranjana Gauhar started with a recital. She was meanwhile also rewarded during the event for her contributions to the art form.

Gauhar started her startling performance with Mangala Charan and later shifted to Jagannath Stuti and Rati Sukha Sare. The event also witnessed the participation of Bandita Ghosal who took the stage with Mu Jani Janui Karicchhi Mana. Benod Kevin also performed on Sanginire Chahain Benu Pani .

The event also witnessed the participation of MLA Pratap Jena, retired IAS Ashok KUmar Tripathy and Mardala Guru Dhaneswar Swain.
