Three odia movies to hit screens May 25

Three Odia movies will be releasing May 25 in cinema halls across the state. Odia movie T, Sala Budhar ra badla and Preeti bandhan.
After a long wait, Odia movie T will be released. Directed by Jitesh Kumar Parida, the film is based on the real-life struggles and triumphs of Meghna Sahoo, India’s first transgender cab driver.

The film delves deep into the challenges faced by transgender individuals in our society, and how Meghna overcame all obstacles to emerge as a shining example of courage and determination. The story of T is not just about one person, but about an entire community that has been marginalized for far too long.

Speaking about the film, Jitesh Kumar Parida said, “T is a very special film for us, and we are thrilled that it has received the UA certificate from the Censor Board. We have worked very hard to bring the real-life transgender story to the big screen, and we hope that the film will help create greater awareness about the challenges faced by the transgender community.

He further added, “Through this film, we want to highlight the importance of inclusivity and diversity in our society. We believe that T has the power to inspire people and bring about positive change, and we are eagerly looking forward to its release.”

One of the fan favorite and hit Odia movies, ‘Sala Budhara Badla’ will also have a pan lndia re-release May 25. The film made in Koshali language has been directed by eminent filmmaker Sabysachi Mohapatra. It was part of the third film of a trilogy, which also comprises Sala Budha and Adim Vichar.

The film reflecting authentic Odia culture and way of life won the award for best Odia film at the 67th national awards in 2021.

Those who have seen the movie with a fresh makeover like sound mixing and Odia language dubbing at a private screening were moved by the story, screenplays, dialogue and photography. They went gaga over the film. ‘It is going to be a superhit’, was the aloud reaction.

New Odia movie Preeti Bandhan will also be releasing May 25.

The first venture of Next Door Films banner Starring Sambit, Tamanna and Trupti are in lead roles while Pushpa panda, Phritviraj Nayak, Bhupat Tripathi, Kedar Mishra, Alka, Prashant Nayak, Nupur and Sushmita are in supporting roles.

The movie is produced by Narendra Patra and Prashant Nayak and directed by Rasesh Mohanty while music direction is provided by Abhijit Majumdar.

The movie is a love story between the three characters and revolves around a typical odia family and makers trying to showcase the odia culture and tradition in the movie.
