This role was mentally and emotionally very challenging for me: Supriya

Bhubaneswar: Actress Supriya Nayak last movie Pushkara enjoyed huge success in the cinema hall and her performance was appreciated by all.

After Pushkara, Supriya is here with her new web series ‘Barang 1999’ based on the real incident which is currently streaming at OTT platform Kanccha Lannka.

In the web series Supriya is playing a role of rape victim fighting for justice.

Talking to Odia Celebrity Supriya said” It’s means the world to me. I have learnt so much playing this character and my heart and head goes out to all the rape survivors and victims. Huge respect to them for being able to fight and the ones who couldn’t fight a big hug to them… they are no less. It was mentally and emotionally very challenging for me because to be able to be in such an intense character throughout and to be able to essay the role by pouring all the emotions into it , it takes a big toll on one’s own mental health as well. Everything said and done I have put my heart , soul and tears into this role”

The seven episode web series Barang 1999 is a story of a woman Amrita Padhi pitted against the mighty government. While concept of the web series is created by Dilip Bisoi, the story is written by Saroj Mohapatra.

Hit web series Exposed famed director Ajay Padhi is directing this new series. The series stars actress Supriya Nayak, Sacred Games fame actor and NSD Director Chittaranjan Tripathy and actor Sukumar Tudu are in important roles.

This apart, Chandan Mohanty, Asit Patra, Nishanta Majhitia,Bhaswati Basu, KP Somen Pujari, Bhupati Tripathy and others will also be seen in key roles.

Director Padhi said “Making the series is challenging as its canvas is very big and recreating 90 era was challenging but we had done it for authenticity and we hope that the audience will love it”
