Bhubaneswar: The much-anticipated Odia movie “SIR” has unveiled its official teaser on the Amara Muzik YouTube channel, giving fans a first look at the inspiring story of a teacher whose service transcends the classroom.
Starring Samaresh Routray, Avisekh Rath, Dipanwit Dasmohapatra, Arlin Ankita, and Ashrumochan, the film is directed by Keshab Mallick and produced under the banner of Kamal Cine Productions by Dr. Kamal Lochan Sahu, who also wrote the story. The movie narrates the journey of Agani Mohanty, an ideal school teacher who believes that “Teacher-ship is not a profession but a service.” Driven by his passion to readmit school dropouts, Agani’s guidance shapes the lives of students like Murali Mohan Nayak and Ramesh Chhotray, who go on to achieve high ranks in government services.
Years later, when Ramesh visits his alma mater to meet Agani and return a debt he once borrowed for his mother, he discovers the retired teacher has been neglected by his family and is living in dire conditions. The story follows Ramesh and Murali as they come together to help Agani, clear Ramesh’s entanglement in a land scam, and ultimately see their mentor honored with the President’s Award.
The film’s teaser emphasizes the emotional and moral core of the story, highlighting the profound impact a teacher can have on students’ lives. As the old student association declares, “A teacher is the real God for the student.”
“SIR” promises to be a heartfelt tribute to teachers, showcasing how their dedication and selflessness shape generations. The movie is produced by Kamal Cine Productions with Amara Muzik as the official music label.
