Robotic Arm Camera, Big Vision: Monster Aims to Redefine Odia Action Films
Makers introduce robotic arm camera for the first time in Odia cinema to elevate action sequences.
Bhubaneswar: The shooting of the much-anticipated Odia action film Monster is progressing at full throttle in Bhubaneswar, promising audiences a larger-than-life cinematic experience.
The film stars newcomer Aaditya Mohapatra in a rugged action avatar. After making his debut in 2024 with the romantic drama I Love You 2, Aaditya is now set to surprise fans by showcasing a completely different, action-oriented side on the silver screen.
Directed by Sudhanshu Mohan Sahoo, who also helmed Aaditya’s debut film, Monster features newcomer Dibyajyoti Tripathy as the female lead.
The makers recently shared behind-the-scenes glimpses from the sets, offering a sneak peek into the film’s high-energy production.
In a first for the Odia film industry, the team is reportedly using a robotic arm film camera to capture stylised action sequences, aiming to elevate the visual scale and technical finesse of the project.
The film’s title was unveiled during Ganesh Puja celebrations last year, instantly generating buzz among fans.
Adding to the excitement, Aaditya has not only taken on the lead role but has also penned the story and screenplay, making Monster a deeply personal venture for the young actor.
Speaking about the project, Aaditya said, “The screen will never be the same again. We, the team of MONSTER, promise to take you all on a ride like never before.”
Produced by Debraj Bidhar under the banner of Gopinath Motion Pictures, the film went on floors in January this year. A grand theatrical release is planned for 2026, with the team confident that Monster will redefine action cinema in Odia films.
