Mumbai: Four years ago, Rhea Chakraborty was declared the biggest villain of India after Sushant Singh Rajput’s untimely demise. She even got arrested and had to spend nearly a month in jail.

Opening up about this episode in a conversation with author Chetan Bhagat on his show Deeptalk With Chetan Bhagat, Riya says, “I had to be in solitary confinement for 14 days. I was asked if I’d like to have lunch. I was so hungry and tired that I ate whatever was given to me.”

What was on the menu? “There was roti and capsicum ki subzi, which was just capsicum in water. ”

The actress talked further about her jail life, “There’s a canteen in jail from where you can buy biscuits. You get a money order from your family of Rs. 5,000 a month. You can buy water with the money, which is better than the tap water in jail. I used to spend Rs. 2,500 on water.”

As for meal times, she answered, “You get breakfast at 6 am, lunch at 11 am and you get dinner at 2 pm because it goes with the British way of things.”

Rhea said, “Most people save their dinner and have it at 7-8 pm. However, I changed my whole cycle. Yeh khana toh waise bhi khaya nahin jaayega. Garam hoga toh fir bhi khaya jaayega. Thanda toh bilkul nahin khaya jaayega. Hence, I started waking up at 4 am and finishing my dinner at 2 pm.”
Released on bail after nearly a month, she fulfilled a promise to her fellow inmates by performing a joyful dance, opting for a ‘Naagin’ sequence to lift their spirits.
