Bhubaneswar: The much-awaited Amiya Patnaik Production’s New Odia movie Trikanya, directed by renowned national award-winning director Anupam Patnaik, is doing splendidly well in the cinema halls across the state.
The movie, which was released on International Women’s Day, is going to houseful shows in many cinema halls in the capital city.
Trikanya comprises three unique narratives portraying a different facet of women’s lives.
These stories explore themes of companionship, motherhood, and the complexities of marital relationships. Each tale unfolds with its secrets and revelations, offering a glimpse into the emotional journeys of the women at their core.
The film features a stellar cast, including Barsha Patnaik, Manoj Mishra, Aman, Sradha Panigrahi, Partha Sarathi Ray, Nishanth Majithia, Sukant Rath, Nivy, and Sijan Mohapatra.
The film tells the story of three women and their journeys in life. One of the characters is played by young RJ-turned-actress Nibedita, popularly known as Nivy. In the movie, she plays a robot who was bought for companionship.
Nivy gained popularity as a popular Radio Jockey and, after that, shifted her focus to acting; talking to Odia Celebrity, Nivy said,” From the beginning, I had a liking for acting; after my stint as RJ, I was searching for acting gigs and found city theatres where I started acting in small roles and slowly started getting good roles. She had done over a dozen plays, which helped sharpen her acting skills.
After plays Nivy started doing web series and short films. She debuted in her first film Rati Sari Sari jauche in supporting role which was also directed by Anupam patnaik.
About director, Anupam Nivy said, “Anupam sir saw my work in Rati Sari Sari Jauche and had thought of me for the role in Trikanya. He understands what the audience wants, and as his father was also an eminent filmmaker, he understands how to work with actors and get good acting from them”. The story is written by Manash Padhihary, with whom I had worked on the radio few times
Talking about her character,Nivy said,” As you can see in the trailer, I am playing a Robot who was bought by Sukant Rath’s character for companionship. It’s a very futuristic story but very relevant to present times also.”
“For the role, I watched several videos of how robots act. For the role, I had to act in a nonhuman way without showing any emotion, which was very tough,” she said
Nivy recently tied the knot with Kumar Abhisekh, a sports journalist and anchor.
About marriage, Nivy said that it’s a wonderful change in her life.” I believe that change is beautiful. I don’t see any problem in work after marriage, and in fact, my in-laws and husband fully supported me,”
About the future, she said, “Acting is my passion and will continue to do that, but looking at the present situation of the Odia movie industry, I will also focus on freelancing apart from acting.”
