Partha Sarathi Ray Introduced as Father Thomas in ‘Dahaan – The Evil Within’
Bhubaneswar, August 22: The makers of upcoming Odia horror film Dahaan – The Evil Within have unveiled actor Partha Sarathi Ray in the role of Father Thomas, adding another intriguing character to the film’s growing world of mystery and supernatural fear.
Introducing the character, the makers shared the line, “Some battles aren’t fought with weapons—they are fought with faith.” The reveal hints at a character whose strength lies not in physical confrontation but in faith, potentially placing Father Thomas at the centre of the film’s battle against its dark forces.
Dahaan – The Evil Within, written and directed by Anupam Patnaik, is scheduled to release in cinemas worldwide on September 11, 2026, during the Ganesh Puja festive season.
The film is produced by Barsha Patnaik and Anupam Patnaik and features an ensemble cast including Barsha Patnaik, Aurosikha Mishra, Samrat Mohapatra, Sijan Mohapatra, Choudhury JayPrakash Das, Nishant Majithia, Pranab Prasanna Rath, Navya Jaiti, Prasanjeet Mohapatra, Mohan Majithia, Debadutta Nanda and Amitabh Patra.
The makers have been steadily unveiling the film’s characters and promotional material, with the official teaser already setting the tone for a dark supernatural narrative. The film promises a world where fear, mystery and evil are deeply intertwined.
Dahaan has also drawn attention for its unique shooting location, becoming the first feature film to be shot at the historic Killa Dalijoda, a nearly century-old former royal hunting lodge in Odisha. The cast and crew stayed at the heritage property for more than a month during the shoot, with its imposing architecture contributing to the film’s eerie visual atmosphere.
The film’s technical team includes music composer Ashish Pradhan, cinematographer Deepak Kumar, editor Rashmi Ranjan Dash and sound designer Shakti Swaroop Dwibedy. Amara Muzik is the official music label of the film.
With Father Thomas now introduced as another key character, anticipation is building around how faith will confront the evil at the heart of Dahaan – The Evil Within, which arrives in theatres on September 11.
