‘Pabar’ Sets Records on OTT After Successful Theatrical Run

Bhubaneswar: Following its successful theatrical release, the Babushaan Mohanty and Elina Samantaray starrer Pabar has made a strong debut on the OTT platform AAO Nxt.

The film, which started streaming on April 23, has already broken records, achieving the highest-ever number of downloads and subscriptions on its first day.

According to AAO Nxt, Pabar recorded over 27,000 downloads and more than 3,240 new subscriptions within 24 hours of its digital premiere.

“The very *PABARFUL* Superstar Babushaan Mohanty – history has been made! On Day 1 of *Pabar*’s grand release, we’ve smashed records with the highest-ever downloads and subscriptions on AAO Nxt,” the platform announced.

The film, which originally released in cinemas on July 12, 2024, earned over Rs 1.7 crore during its theatrical run. It tells the story of Benudhar Kandi, an ordinary man who becomes entangled in local politics.

Directed by Ashok Pati and produced by Tripti Satpathy, the film was written by Amit Kumar Dash and Pranab Rath. The cast also includes Choudhury Jayprakash Das, Ravi Mishra, Krishna Kar, and Udit Guru. *Pabar* marks another successful collaboration between Babushaan Mohanty and director Ashok Pati.
