Bhubaneswar: The Ollywood industry, along with political leaders, came together to honor the late actor Uttam Mohanty at a Smruti Sabha (Memorial Gathering) held in Bhubaneswar.
The tribute event, which took place on Sunday, was attended by prominent stars such as Jhilik Bhattacharjee, Sritam Das, Sidhanth Mohapatra, and Jayiram Samal, as well as former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan.
On the occasion Uttam Mohanty ‘s son Actor Babushaan Mohanty, his daughter in law Trupti Satpathy and wife actress Aparajita Mohanty were present.
Uttam Mohanty, a beloved figure in Odisha’s film industry, passed away recently on February 27 while receiving treatment at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram. His death marked a significant loss to both the film industry and his vast fanbase. The city of Bhubaneswar bid a heartfelt farewell to the veteran actor on February 28, as his mortal remains were brought back home, where thousands of people gathered to pay their respects.
Uttam Mohanty was recognized for his outstanding contributions to Odisha’s cultural legacy, with the Odisha government honoring him with full state honors. His passing left a deep void, but his legacy lives on in the hearts of those who admired his work on screen.
