Bhubaneswar: Odia language literature and culture department presented awards to film personalities for their work in movies for the year 2021, 2022 and 2023 at City hotel on Sunday.
On the occasion three Odia cinema stalwarts Anant Mahapatra, Srinivas Mahapatra and comedian Jairam Samal were conferred with the Mohan Sundar Dev Goswami Award for their incomparable contribution during the presentation of the Odisha State Film Awards for the years 2020, 2021 and 2022 here today.
Noted writer, director and theatre personality Ananta Mohapatra received the prestigious award for the year 2020 while cinematographer Srinivas Mohapatra got it for the years 2021 and famous comedian Jayiram Samal got the same for the year 2022.
Governor Raghubar Das conferred the award on them and congratulated. He also urged the film industries to make films with courage and innovation while focusing on the natural beauty of Odisha.
On the occasion for 2020 Sahid Raghu Sardar won the award in Best Film category, while Pratikshya and Dalcheeni will get it for 2021 and DAMaN for 2022.
Debasish Patra for Sahid Raghu Sardar and Amlan Das for Romeo Raja were declared winners in Best Actor section for 2020 while the award went to Ankit Kumar and Dipanwit Das Mohapatra for their movies Bhoka and Pratikshya for the next year. Babushaan Mohanty will receive the honour for 2022.
Similarly, the Best Actress honour will be conferred on Kavya Keeran (Sahid Raghu Sardar) for 2020, Suryamayee Mohapatra (Dalcheeni) for 2021 and Lopamudra Mishra (Boura Hatabaksa) for 2022.
In direction, for 2020, Rajesh Samal will get the Best Director award for Romeo Raja while Suresh Patnaik(Trishna) and Sudhanshu Mohan Sahoo(Mayavee) are the winners for next two years.
On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Prabhati Parida, Odia Language, Literature & Culture Minister Suryabanshi Suraj, Bhubaneswar Ekamra MLA Babu Singh, senior officials of Odisha Government and stalwarts of the film industry were present.
