Odia Filmmaker Jitendra Named CIFEJ Goodwill Ambassador

Bhubaneswar : Carving a niche as well as earning laurels for our art and culturally-rich Utkal Pradesh, internationally-acclaimed filmmaker-cum- producer, promoter and curator Jitendra Mishra is not only making Odisha proud globally, but has also been named Goodwill Ambassador of CIFEJ.

Notably, the acronym CIFEJ – Centre International de Film pour l’enfance et La Jeunesse in French – means International Centre of Films for Children and Youth in English.

It is an NGO active as the only global network of audio-visual media professionals working for children and young people that was formed under the auspices of UNESCO in 1955 in Brussels.

Pertinent to note that, Jitendra Mishra has been promoting art, culture, handloom and cinema from India at the world stages voluntarily. He not only played an instrumental role in replicating our iconic Konark Chakra at Times Square in New York (USA), but has also been promoting Sambalpuri handloom at Cannes every year for last 10 years. He has been an active member of Cannes producers network for quite sometime.

This internationally-acclaimed filmmaker has also been supporting and promoting regional films and filmmakers from India so that they could reach global market through CINEMA4GOOD and CINEODISHA. The recent case study is Malayalam film F for Frog.

CINEODISHA timeless cinema from Odisha is one of innovative initiatives that was launched during Dubai Expo 2020 and the second edition was held in Manchester (UK) recently. The intent is to promote the rich art, culture, tradition and values of the beautiful state through timeless cinema from Odisha.

As a crowning glory, Jitendra Mishra is the first and only Indian to be selected as Jury for the European Childrens Film Association.
Besides, he has already been invited as Jury to more than 50 international film festivals and forums.

Moreover, he has already co-produced five (05) international films, has worked in more than 100 films in 10 different languages in different categories and various capacities all together, and has already received multiple national and international awards for his films. The Last Color, Buried Seeds, Desires of the Heart, Human Oak, I am Kalam, Barefoot Empress are a few recent films among others.
