Bhubaneswar: The Odia film ‘Puyodakam’ made a strong mark at the prestigious Jagran Film Festival held in Mumbai, earning praise from film lovers and critics alike. The screening saw the presence of director Shivaprasad Mahanti, producers Gungun and Reena Jena, executive producer Nirmalya Kumar, acclaimed sound designer Subas Sahu and veteran actress-director Bijaya Jena (Dolly), among others.

Held from November 13 to 16, the international festival showcased a selection of powerful films, and Puyodakam emerged as one of the notable highlights. The film impressed viewers with its compelling storyline, unique narrative style, impactful performances and top-notch production quality.
Produced under the banner of Gungun Films, the movie is helmed by celebrated director Shivaprasad Mahanti, who also handled the screenplay, dialogues and editing. The film features Gungun, Shritam Das, Gargi Mahanti, Abhishek Giri, Shubhranshu Nayak, Bibu Das and Purnendu Dutta in key roles. Cinematography is by Prem Jayan, with music composed by Subas Sahu and Arun Jyoti. National award–winning sound designer Subas Sahu has crafted the soundscape, while Haraprasad Mahapatra managed the film’s publicity.
With its emotional depth and cinematic finesse, Puyodakam left a lasting impression on festival audiences. After its journey across various national and international festivals, the film is expected to hit the big screens soon, producer Gungun confirmed.
