Bhubaneswar: The much-anticipated Odia film I Am Kalia, starring Harihar Mohapatra, is all set to hit cinema halls across Odisha on July 11. The film, presented by Lee Bliss Entertainment, was originally scheduled for release during Bahuda Yatra but was postponed due to heavy rainfall in several regions of the state.
Dedicated to Lord Jagannath, I Am Kalia is an emotional social drama that reflects the deep devotion many Odias have for the deity, highlighting how divine love can transcend worldly attachments.
Directed by Harihar Mahapatra, the film also features Russian theatre actress Aniya, Kuna Tripathy, Pushpa Panda, Satwaki Mishra, and others in key roles. The story is penned by Monalisa Mahapatra, with screenplay and direction by Harihar Mahapatra and music composed by Baidyanath Das.
Other key contributors include Ashish Behera (co-direction), Kanhu Nanda Shubham (cinematography), Sarada Nayak (production design), and Pranay Jethi (promotions), with Amiya Maharana serving as the film’s advisor.
The soundtrack features lyrics by Surya Mahapatra, Dr. Shubha Dash, Pramod Parida, and Nihar Priyasees, and vocals by Human Sagar, Asima Panda, Kuldeep, Prajna Hota, Shreecharan, Sukanta Kundu, and Sanju Mohanty. Choreography is by Sudhakar Basant, Raja Mahant, and Kumar Mantu.
Shot entirely in the holy town of Puri, I Am Kalia is notably the third Odia film to feature a foreign actress in a lead role.
