Bhubaneswar: The much-awaited Odia film Chakranta, starring Bhoomika Dash and Subhasish Sharma, was released in cinema halls across Odisha on Friday, drawing attention for its socially relevant storyline and fresh on-screen pairing.

A special premiere show of the film was organised at Brundaban Cinema Hall in Cuttack, where the lead actors along with other members of the cast and crew were present. Fans gathered at the theatre to catch a glimpse of the stars and celebrate the release of the movie.
During the event, the team also offered a special tribute to noted Odia music composer Abhijit Majumdar, who passed away recently.
Headlined by Bhoomika Dash, the film revolves around the journey of a young woman who leaves her home in search of education and career opportunities, only to face temptations, negative influences, and unexpected challenges. The story highlights how innocent lives can be tested by circumstances, how relationships come under strain, and how the sacrifices of parents often remain unnoticed. Through its narrative, the film delivers a strong message about life choices and the consequences that follow.
The movie is directed by Pinu Nayak and produced by Saurabh Padhi, who have promised a gripping cinematic experience blending social realism with elements of suspense and conspiracy.
The film also marks Bhoomika Dash’s first on-screen pairing with Subhasis Sharma, a fresh combination that has created curiosity among audiences.
The ensemble cast includes Harihar Mahapatra, Chaudhury Jayprakash Das, Pradyumna Lenka, Dharitri Khandual, Surabhi, Soumya Satapathy, Shubham Padhi, Suman Mahanty, Kusum Tripathy, Pramod Raut, Tushar, Umakant, Niranjan Nirua, Punyatoya Mishra and Krishnarani Dash, with a special guest appearance by Ashrumochan Mahanty.
With its layered narrative and socially relevant theme, Chakranta is expected to attract strong audience response across the state following its theatrical release.
