Bhubaneswar: The makers of the upcoming Odia action film Monster have officially announced that the movie will hit theatres on Dussehra 2026. The big reveal was made on Wednesday on the occasion of the Holi festival, adding festive cheer for fans eagerly awaiting the film.

Sharing the update, the team wrote:
“Some battles need a hero. But when justice is pushed to the edge… a #MONSTER is born. This Dussehra 2026 – fear the rage in cinemas.”

The announcement has sparked excitement among fans, especially after the film’s powerful promotional campaign over the past few months.

Aaditya Mohapatra’s Big Action Leap

The film stars emerging actor Aaditya Mohapatra in a rugged, high-octane action avatar. After making his debut in 2024 with the romantic drama I Love You 2, Aaditya is now set to showcase a completely different side of his acting prowess. Interestingly, Monster is a deeply personal project for the young actor, as he has also penned the story and screenplay.

Directed by Sudhanshu Mohan Sahoo, who also helmed Aaditya’s debut venture, the film features newcomer Dibyajyoti Tripathy as the female lead.

Currently being shot at full throttle in Bhubaneswar, Monster promises a larger-than-life cinematic experience. In what is said to be a first for the Odia film industry, the team is reportedly using a robotic arm film camera to capture stylised and dynamic action sequences, aiming to elevate the visual scale and technical finesse of the project.

The film’s title was unveiled during Ganesh Puja celebrations last year, instantly creating buzz among moviegoers. Produced by Debraj Bidhar under the banner of Gopinath Motion Pictures, the film went on floors in January and has been progressing steadily since.

With its Dussehra 2026 release now locked in, the makers are confident that Monster will redefine action cinema in Odia films and offer audiences a festive-season spectacle packed with power, rage and high-voltage drama.
