Mid Night’ Emerges as New Address of Fear in Odia Cinema
Grand Premiere Held in Bhubaneswar; Film Released in 25 Theatres Across Odisha
Bhubaneswar: Adding a fresh dimension to the Odia film industry, Mid Night has emerged as a new destination for horror cinema, promising audiences a gripping blend of fear and thrill.
The grand premiere of the horror-thriller film was held at Shriya Cineplex in Bhubaneswar, marking its official release across 25 theatres in the state.
Designed to offer a full-fledged horror experience, Mid Night is being hailed as a bold attempt to introduce a new cinematic flavour for Odia audiences. Presented under the banner of Manu Dwibedi Films, the movie sees Manu Dwibedi don himself in dual roles—as both director and lead actor.
One of the film’s major highlights is Dwibedi’s powerful performance in a double role, portraying both father and son. His intense screen presence and convincing portrayal have drawn strong attention from viewers.
The film features two songs, of which “Mayabini Ae Andhara Raati…” has already gained popularity among audiences. Penned by Dr. Nirmal Nayak and composed by music director Prashant Padhi, the song effectively captures the eerie narrative of a restless spirit.
The haunting vocals of popular Ollywood singer Asima Panda further elevate the song, perfectly complementing the film’s dark and frightening backdrop and delivering a spine-chilling experience.
Produced by Amiya Kumar Dwibedi, the story of Mid Night, written by Anup Kumar Dwibedi, is strengthened by impactful dialogues by Dr. Rajani Ranjan. Alongside Manu Dwibedi, the film features Devu Brahma, Pratibha Panda, Akshaya Bastia, Biren Mishra, Diana, Alia, Priya, Sasmita and Sudhanshubala in important roles.
The technical team also leaves a strong imprint, with Suresh Das serving as assistant director, Ajit Das handling cinematography, Chandrasekhar Mishra in charge of editing, and Bobby Islam choreographing the dance sequences. Rahul Satapathy has contributed as the creative head, while the film’s promotions were led by Haraprasad Mahapatra.
With its eerie narrative, strong performances and atmospheric music, Mid Night aims to offer Odia moviegoers a fresh and memorable horror experience.
