Bhubaneswar: The official trailer of the Odia feature film “Murabi”, produced under the banner of Mentis Films, has been officially released on Monday.

Rooted in a deeply emotional and family-oriented narrative, the film powerfully portrays generational values, leadership, discipline, and the strength of family unity.

The trailer launch ceremony was held at the Biju Pattnaik Film and Television Institute of Odisha (BPFTIO). The event was graced by Odisha’s Minister for Industries, Skill Development and Technical Education, Sampad Chandra Swain, who added prestige to the occasion with his presence.

“Murabi” symbolises the head of a family — a respected figure who binds the household together while imparting lessons of discipline and responsibility. The film is based on this very concept and presents a compelling contrast between two family patriarchs with opposing philosophies. While one believes in strict rules and rigid discipline, the other nurtures family bonds through love, compassion, and freedom.

Through the conflict and interactions between the two families, the film sensitively explores relationships, values, and emotional depth.

The film is produced by National Award winners Vishal Mourya and Debiprasad Lenka, and marks the first feature film produced under the Mentis Films banner.

The co-producers are Sumanta Bairagi and Agnimitra Behera. Direction has been jointly helmed by Peenakee Singh and Sisir Kumar Sahoo.

The screenplay, dialogues, and lyrics have been penned by P. Santosh, while music composition has been done by Agnimitra Behera.

The film features a talented ensemble cast including Kuna Tripathy, Jayaprakash Das, Bijayini Mishra, Ankita Mahanti, B.M. Vaishali, Udit Guru, and Prasenjit, all of whom have delivered notable performances.

The trailer is currently available on the Mentis Films YouTube channel and has been receiving encouraging and positive responses from viewers.

Notably, “Murabi” is slated for a grand theatrical release on 14 April 2026, and is set to entertain audiences across cinema halls with its strong emotional core and socially relevant storytelling.
