Lahari team calls on Odisha Governor after National Award win
Bhubaneswar: Producer of National Film Award-winning Odia film Lahari, Jhilik Bhattacharjee, along with members of the film’s team, called on Odisha Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati at Lok Bhavan here on Thursday.
The Governor congratulated the team on the film winning the National Award for Best Feature Film in Odia and said the achievement had brought pride to Odisha. He appreciated the efforts of the filmmakers and wished them success in their future endeavours.
Kambhampati also encouraged the team to continue creating meaningful and impactful cinema and use the medium to inspire and positively influence the younger generation. He appreciated the film’s contribution to taking Odia cinema to the national platform.
Sharing her experience, Jhilik said meeting the Governor and sharing the joy of the National Award was a deeply meaningful moment for the entire Lahari team.
“Receiving the National Award represents much more than an achievement. It carries within it years of dreams, struggles, sacrifices, faith and the tireless efforts of an entire team that believed in one beautiful story,” she said.
Jhilik, who described herself as a proud daughter-in-law of Odisha, said the state had given her immense love, acceptance and blessings.
“Odisha has given my dreams a place, my journey an identity and my life some of its most precious memories,” she said, adding that the Governor’s blessings had made the occasion even more special.
She said the honour also brought a greater sense of responsibility to continue creating meaningful stories and contributing to Odia cinema.
“We received this National Award with immense pride, but we return with an even greater sense of gratitude and responsibility to continue believing in meaningful stories and, in our own humble way, bring greater pride to Odisha,” Jhilik said.
Lahari has been recognised with the National Award for Best Feature Film in Odia, marking a significant achievement for the Odia film industry.
