Jakarta: India delivered a stellar performance at the Jakarta International Roller Skating Competition (JIRSC) 2026, clinching an impressive 109 medals and reaffirming its growing stature in the sport on the international stage.

Held from May 29 to 31 at the Jakarta Roller Skating Track Arena in Indonesia, the prestigious championship attracted more than 1,000 athletes from five countries — India, Indonesia, Myanmar, Singapore and Malaysia — making it one of the largest roller skating events in the region.
Organized by the Jakarta Skating Federation in association with Persorasi Jakarta, the three-day competition featured top skaters across multiple age categories and disciplines, providing a platform for emerging and elite talent to showcase their skills.
India fielded a strong contingent of 104 athletes drawn from eight states — Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Odisha, Telangana, Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Maharashtra. The outstanding medal haul reflected the dedication of the athletes, coaches and support staff, while highlighting the rapid growth of roller skating across the country.
The remarkable achievement not only underscored India’s competitive strength in the sport but also showcased the increasing popularity of roller skating among young athletes nationwide. Sports enthusiasts and officials hailed the performance as a significant milestone that is expected to inspire a new generation of skaters and further strengthen India’s presence in international roller sports competitions.
