Cuttack: Hearing a petition filed by actor Anubhav Mohanty, the Orissa High Court has directed the concerned family court to record the final statements of both parties by July 31 and dispose of the case in three months (October-end).

The court has also been asked to complete cross examination of his estranged wife Varsha Priyadarshini by July 31.

As per reports, Anubhav had knocked on the doors of the High Court seeking its intervention due to inordinate delay in the hearing on the divorce case in the family court. The matter is pending before the family court here for over two years.

“I think three months time is sufficient for the case to arrive at a logical conclusion provided both the parties cooperate honestly,” said Anubhav’s lawyer Lalitendu Mishra.

Six years after their marriage in 2014, Anubhav had filed the divorce petition in a Delhi court in 2020. Later, the case was transferred to the family court in Cuttack on the direction of the Supreme Court. Varsha had appealed to the apex court to transfer the case from Delhi to Cuttack on the ground that she was staying in the Odisha city.
