Grandniece of Legendary Poet Fakir Mohan Senapati Praises the Film ‘Ananta’ After Watching It at PVR Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar: Recently released Odia film Ananta, based on the timeless story Randi Pua by legendary Odia writer Fakir Mohan Senapati, received high praise from his grandniece, Monika Das, after she watched it at PVR in Bhubaneswar.
Lead actor of the movie Sabyasachi Mishra expressed that her smiling face felt like a blessing from Fakir Mohan himself. Additionally, a senior viewer’s emotional response to Ananta was seen as a mark of achievement—this is just the beginning.
Currently, Ananta is being screened in 40 cinema halls across Odisha, with all shows running houseful. Sabyasachi Mishra’s brilliant performance is entertaining audiences thoroughly, and the climax leaves viewers teary-eyed. It is surprising yet heartening to see a nearly hundred-year-old story resonating so deeply with today’s audience. This makes it clear that viewers are no longer interested in bizarre or outlandish storytelling.
Directed by veteran filmmaker Sabyasachi Mohapatra and his son Kumar C. Dev, Ananta is produced by Naveen Bhandari, Suraj Mahnot, and Archita Sahu. Sabyasachi Mishra plays the titular role, with Surjamayee Mohapatra, Kuna Tripathy, Tapas Sargharia, and Jyotirmayee Panda among many others in supporting roles. Music is directed by Abhijit Majumdar, and cinematography is handled by Huetasang Mohapatra.
Earlier, Sabyasachi Mohapatra’s films such as Sala Budha, Baya, Bou, Sri Jagannath, Bahudibe Mo Jagabalia, Bhukha, Jhili, Adim Bichar, and Pahadara Luha have been highly appreciated by Odia audiences. Now, during the Raja festival, Ananta will be a delightful offering to viewers, and there is no doubt that it will be thoroughly enjoyed.
The film’s marketing and promotions are spearheaded by Media Planner Creative Head Pranay Jethi. Ananta is certainly a wonderful gift for Odia audiences this Raja festival.
