Bhubaneswar: The promotional campaign for the upcoming Odia film ‘Dandakali’ reached Digapahandi NAC, drawing the presence of the film’s producers, artistes and a large number of local residents.
Actor and BJP leader Siddhant Mahapatra attended the promotional event in his constituency and extended his best wishes to the makers. He appreciated the film’s effort to bring the rich art, culture and mythological traditions of the region before audiences through cinema.
‘Dandakali’ is based on the famous mythological drama tradition of Ganjam and the glory and majesty of Maa Kali. Siddhant said the presence of prominent personalities from the film industry and a large gathering of people made the occasion even more memorable.
Produced under the Rajashree Cinecraft banner, the film is directed by noted filmmaker Sudhanshu Mohan Sahu. The story has been written by Abhishikta Mishra, while Dilip Chowdhury has handled the screenplay and dialogues.
Prem Anand has composed the music for the film, with lyrics penned by Bapu Goswami and Dr Nirmal Nayak, while Deepak Kumar is the cinematographer.
Produced by Rajashree Ghosh, with Sukanta Kumar Sahu serving as executive producer, the film features an ensemble cast including Mahasweta Ray, Siddhant Mahapatra, Suryamayee Mohapatra, Chitrasen Ghosh, Trupti Mirambika, Choudhury Jayaprakash Das, Ushasi Mishra, KK, Elina Padhi, Udit Guru, Nihar Samal and Amar Mahapatra.
The music of the film has been released under the Amara Muzik banner. ‘Dandakali’ is scheduled to hit theatres during Ganesh Puja this year, with Haraprasad Mahapatra handling its publicity and promotional activities.
