Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has appreciated Odia filmmakers for winning awards for their short film at international film festival in Mauritius.

At the recently held Indian Ocean International Film Festival, Krishna DK and Simanchal Maharana from Hinjilicut in Ganjam, the CM’s constituency, have bagged two awards, one for Best Documentary Short Film and another as Best Film Story for the documentary Adwitiya. The CM also wished the duo great success in their future works.

Interestingly, the film documents actual events depicting how the IIC of Aska Police Station garnered trust of the local people and rehabilitated former criminals into the mainstream of society and turned a ‘crime city’ into a ‘crime controlling city’.

Aska IIC PS Prashant Kumar Sahoo, senior IPS officers, IG of Police, Southern Range Satyabrata Bhoi and Ganjam SP Jagmohan Meena have acted in the film, which was directed by Krishna DK. The story was written by Simanchal Maharana.

Ramakrushna Sahu is the assistant director of the film while Mohit Tripathy is the cinematographer and Devasish Moharana is the editor.
