Titled “Madhu Barister”, the film aims to chronicle the inspiring life of Madhusudan Das—an eminent lawyer, visionary freedom fighter, and pioneering social reformer. Known as Madhu Babu, Kulabruddha (Grand Old Man), and the Pride of Utkal, Das was the first graduate and advocate from Odisha. He was instrumental in laying the foundation of modern Odisha and was a key figure behind the formation of the Orissa Province on 1 April 1936.

As the founder of Utkal Sammilani in 1903, Das championed the unification and cultural resurgence of Odisha. His tireless efforts and unwavering commitment to the upliftment of the Odia-speaking people have left an indelible mark on the state’s history.

The screenplay is written by Priyabrata Panda, with direction by Mrutyunjay Sahu, promising a powerful and emotionally resonant cinematic journey. “Madhu Barister” will not only spotlight a towering historical figure but also serve as an inspirational tale for future generations.

With this project, Ramesh Barik once again affirms his role as a storyteller with purpose—bringing untold stories to the forefront and honoring the legacy of those who shaped our nation.
