Bhubaneswar: Odia actress Bhoomika Dash has described her experience of portraying the younger version of veteran actress Maheswata Ray in the upcoming Odia film Madhumallati as one of the most beautiful and memorable journeys of her acting career.

Sharing her excitement on social media, Bhoomika expressed gratitude for the opportunity to share the screen with the legendary actress and bring the younger version of her character, Malati, to life.
“Grateful and truly honoured to have shared the screen with the legendary, versatile and evergreen Maheswata mam,” Bhoomika wrote, expressing her admiration for the veteran actress.
She said the opportunity to portray young Malati had been a particularly special experience for her as an actor. Looking forward to the film’s release, Bhoomika said she could not wait for audiences to witness the journey of Madhumallati and experience its emotional narrative on the big screen.

The actress also invited audiences to explore the film’s world of love, emotions and nostalgia during the Durga Puja festive season.
Set against the nostalgic backdrop of the 1980s, Madhumallati revolves around a love story that begins with the innocence of youth and unfolds across decades, culminating in an emotional reunion when the protagonists meet again in their 60s. The film explores how love and cherished memories can endure despite the passage of time.
The film also marks Bollywood actor Sanjay Mishra’s debut in Odia cinema. Portions of the movie were shot at different locations across Bhubaneswar, including the Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bus Stand.
Produced by Ashok Kumar Padhy and Braja Kishore Mishra under the banner of Auroshree Films, the film is directed by Mrutyunjaya Sahoo. Its story, screenplay and dialogues have been written by Priyabrata Panda.
The film features Sanjay Mishra, Maheswata Ray, Sanojj Kumar, Bhoomika Dash, Aakash Hota and Prangya Mishra in key roles.
Music for the film has been composed by Baidyanath Das, with lyrics by Dr Nirmal Nayak and Priyabrata Panda. The film’s soundtrack features singers Trupti Das, Aseema Panda, Antara Chakraborty, Satyajeet Jena, Sanju Mohanty and Chiragdeep Panda.
The makers have also released the dance number ‘Nimbuda Nimbuda’, featuring Sanjay Mishra, Maheswata Ray, Sanojj Kumar and Prangya Mishra. Composed by Baidyanath Das, the song is sung by Aseema Panda and Chiragdeep Panda, with lyrics by Dr Nirmal Nayak and choreography by Amit Nayak.
With its multi-generational love story, nostalgic setting and the pairing of Bhoomika Dash and Maheswata Ray as younger and older versions of Malati, respectively, Madhumallati seeks to bring a story of enduring love and memories to audiences this Durga Puja.
