Bara Badhu Trailer Released, Film to Hit Screens on February 13
Bhubaneswar:;The trailer of the upcoming Odia film Bara Badhu was released on Sunday on the Amara Muzic Odia YouTube channel, offering audiences a compelling glimpse into a story that thoughtfully explores the intersections of marriage and employment in contemporary society.
Directed by Beeswaranjan, the multi-starrer presents a fresh narrative that weaves personal relationships, social expectations, and career aspirations into a socially grounded yet entertaining cinematic experience. The trailer hints at emotional conflicts, romance, humour, and realism, setting the tone for a relatable and engaging film.
Bara Badhu features an ensemble cast including Sivani Sangita, Sailendra Samantaray, Suryamayee Mohapatra, Hara Rath, Subhasis Sharma, and Jayshree Sarangi, among others.
Each character appears to reflect different dimensions of relationships and societal pressures, particularly surrounding marriage and livelihood.
Earlier, the makers had released the teaser along with a series of character posters that generated significant buzz. The first look featuring Sivani Sangita and Sailendra Samantaray as Suman and Biju introduced the central romantic arc with the tagline, “When opposites find love. One story gets created.”
Another poster revealed Suryamayee Mohapatra and Hara Rath as Juli and Bipina, described as “Partners in crime,” hinting at a playful subplot. More recently, Subhasis Sharma and Jayshree Sarangi were introduced as Sukla and Gita, portrayed as characters with “innocent eyes and fragile hearts,” suggesting an emotionally intense storyline.
The film is scheduled for a theatrical release across Odisha on February 13, coinciding with the Valentine’s Day weekend. The release date was earlier announced on the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti, with the team stating, “On this auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti, our new journey begins.”
Produced under the banner of The Useful Garbage Creations in association with Country Boyz Studios and Sharpline Film Pvt. Ltd., Bara Badhu is presented by Chandra Mani and will be released by Prakash Films. Chandra Mani serves as the producer, while Beeswaranjan and Sushil Kumar Mishra are co-producers.
The technical team includes cinematographer Bljitesh Dey, editor Dipika Kalra, and sound designer Nihar Samal. Beeswaranjan has also handled the story, screenplay, and dialogues, with music composed by Gaurav Anand and Bharat–Hitarth.
With the trailer now out, Bara Badhu has heightened expectations as a Valentine’s Day release that blends romance, social commentary, and Odia cultural sensibilities in a distinctive cinematic style.
