Artist Day Celebrated by Voice of Odisha Artist

Bhubaneswar: The state-level Artist Day – 2025 was celebrated at the Bhanjakala Mandap in Bhubaneswar, organized by the family of “Voice of Odisha Artist” (OKS).

The event was graced by the presence of actor Sritam Das, Team Chairman Nishikanta Mishra, veteran stage actor Nabin Parida, Media Planner and Creative Head Pranay Jethi, Manmath Kumar Satapathy, President Sridhar Martha, and Editor Mrutyunjay Panda, among others.

OKS has been organizing this Artist Day for the past five years. During this program, artists from various districts of Odisha were honored. These included individuals from fields such as folk art, jatra, theater, cinema, television, social work, production, direction, music, writing, singing, instrument playing, and folk songs.

Twenty veteran mentors were felicitated, along with artists who have brought pride to Odisha, receiving the “Gandharva Kala Samman”. Additionally, ten organizations contributing significantly to the art and culture of Odisha were honored with the “OKESH Gourav Samman”.

The second annual magazine titled “Swara O Swakshara” was also unveiled at the event.

As a step towards the future security of its members, accident insurance coverage worth ₹2 lakhs was provided to 120 active Odia artists from the OKS family.

With support from the Commissionerate Police and the Red Cross, a blood donation camp and a free health camp were also organized.

Key members of the OKS executive committee, including President Sridhar Martha, Vice-President Dr. Rishi Pattnaik, Editor Mrutyunjay Panda, Joint Editor Barada Prasanna Patra, Treasurer Mrunmaya Nayak, Joint Treasurer Bishal Sahu, and Communications Officer Sarthak Pradhan, were present at the event.

Various programs including dance, music, comedy, and entertainment activities were held. At 7:45 PM, the play “Goitha Baba”, written by the late Ranjit Pattnaik, was staged.
