Bhubaneswar: Director Anupam Patnaik and superstar Anubhav Mohanty are all set to collaborate once again for their upcoming film *Raavan*. The duo, who previously delivered the hit film *Karma*, are aiming to recreate the magic with a story that promises to explore intense themes of power, vengeance, and destiny.
Before the cameras roll, the film’s team is currently in Goa for a location recce. Sharing glimpses from the coastal state, Anupam Patnaik wrote, *“Location Recce Begins, Raavan… Mass Madness on its way.”* A recce is a pre-filming visit to evaluate the suitability of various locations, and the picturesque backdrops of Goa seem to be a strong contender for several key scenes.
The makers earlier revealed that shooting for *Raavan* is scheduled to begin in May, with a theatrical release planned for September 26, 2025.
Produced by Barsha Patnaik, Arpit Golecha, and Jagrati Shukla—who also penned the story—the film features a creative team that includes Manas Padhiary, Nishant Majithia, Jagrati Shukla, and Anupam Patnaik himself as screenwriters.
The search for the female lead has reportedly been finalized, and her identity is expected to be revealed soon.
On a personal note, actor Anubhav Mohanty recently tied the knot with writer-producer Jagrati Shukla, further deepening the professional and personal synergy behind *Raavan*. Meanwhile, director Anupam Patnaik is also engaged with the second season of his critically acclaimed series *Gangs of Puri*, which is currently streaming on the Kanccha Lannka OTT platform.
