Actress Bhoomika Dash Mesmerises Audience with Odissi Performance at Aekalavya 2026

Bhubaneswar: Actress and Odissi dancer Bhoomika Dash captivated audiences with a graceful performance of Varsavisara at Aekalavya 2026, an Odissi dance festival organised by Saswat Joshi recently.

Sharing glimpses of the performance on social media, Bhoomika described Varsavisara as “a celebration of rain, longing, love, and life’s beautiful rebirth,” adding, “When the first raindrop touches the earth, every heartbeat finds its rhythm.”

The choreography was created by renowned Odissi exponent Padma Shri Aruna Mohanty, while the performance was presented under the direction, guidance and mentorship of Sridutta Bhol.

Bhoomika expressed gratitude to her mentors and collaborators for making the performance possible. She also acknowledged filmmaker Wapi Films for capturing the performance, makeup artist Ritesh for styling, and Sayani Chakraborty for the costume.

Known for balancing her acting career with a deep commitment to classical dance, Bhoomika’s performance at Aekalavya 2026 was praised for its elegance and emotional depth, reaffirming her dedication to promoting Odisha’s rich cultural heritage through Odissi.
