Bhubaneswar: Popular Odia film actor, respected MLA of Korei constituency, and advisor of UDRA Charitable Trust, Akash Das Nayak, celebrated his birthday on September 17. Every year, Akash observes his birthday in a unique way. He spends the day with children in orphanages, residents of service homes, students of schools for the hearing and speech-impaired, and elderly residents of old age homes.
This year, he celebrated his birthday with the residents of Shri Krishna Anand Old Age Home in Uttara, Bhubaneswar. On the occasion, he organized a free health camp for the inmates. Under the supervision of Dr. Priyabrata Dhir, Chief Doctor of Sparsh Hospital, a team of experienced doctors carried out health check-ups and distributed necessary medicines free of cost.
To entertain the residents, a colourful cultural programme was also held. Akash said that his effort was to bring smiles to the faces of the elderly residents on his birthday. The inmates and staff of the old age home extended greetings and warm wishes to him, prayed for his long and happy life, and celebrated by cutting a cake together. Sharing joy with the elderly, Akash said – “Happiness grows when shared.”
Birthday wishes poured in from his fans in the film industry, political admirers, and members of the intellectual community. Many eminent personalities also conveyed their greetings to him.
The celebration was attended by the medical team of Sparsh Hospital, UDRA Charitable Trust secretary Shubhrajyoti Dasnayak, vice-chairman Dr. Suryaprakash S.
