Bhubaneswar: The two-day “Acharya Tarini Charan Patra Award Festival-2025” was celebrated at the Bhanja Kala Mandap, organized by leading Odia classical music and dance institution Utkalika.
The inaugural evening featured distinguished guests including researcher and former Sangeet Natak Academy Vice-President Shri Manmatha Satapathy, senior Odissi dance gurus Shri Niranjan Raut and Shri Jayant Kumar Acharya.
The prestigious awards were presented to eminent personalities in Odissi music, dance, and traditional arts, including Pandit Ramhari Das, Pandit Ramarao Patra, Guru P.V.S. Ramarao, and theatre guru Shri Simanchal Patra. Young talent awards were conferred upon Shri Prabhat Kumar Swain (Odissi dance), Shri Muralidhar Swain (Mardala), and Shri Alok Bishoi (traditional arts).
The event also featured a captivating Pallavi performance by Utkalika chief Shri Shekhar Suman Majhi, highlighting the institution’s commitment to promoting Odissi dance while preserving its originality and tradition.
