‘Aabha’ to release on September 13

Bhubaneswar: The makers of Odia film Aabha announced the release date of the movie at a press meet Sunday. The Movie will be released on September 13 across the state. The press meet was attended by producer producer Prabir Mahapatra, actor Vishal, actress Sona Mallick, director Pallab Roy, Film Creative head of Marketing and PR Pranay Jethi and others

Produced under the banner of Omm Baba Productions, the movie tells the inspirational journey of a differently abled girl. Newcomer Sona Mallik is in the lead, while Anu Chaudhary plays a key role. The plot follows the lead character’s journey, shedding light on the societal challenges faced by people with disabilities.

Talking to Odia celebrity actress Sona who played the titular role said that the role was very challenging for me and I am thankful to producer and director for giving me this opportunity. The film must be watched by everybody to understand the situation the differently able people face regularly.

Earlier the films hold a special screening of the movie at Soochana Bhavan,where more than 60 differently abled people attended the event.

Elaborating more about the story, Anu said, “The movie carries a powerful message. It’s not just about the struggles of a differently-abled girl but also about the biases and underestimations these individuals face. Aabha aims to enlighten minds and shift societal perceptions.”

Aabha will not only empower women but also provide a new cinematic experience to viewers, stated director Pallab Roy.

The event also featured an audio launch and poster unveiling ceremonies. The makers promised to announce the release date soon.
