A new controversy has marred the newly-released Odia movie Priye Tu Mo Siye. Irked by the use of casteist words in the dialogues of the movie a case has been registered now with the police.
Alleged aggrieved by the whole issue the Sukinda Dalit March has filed an FIR with the Kalinganagar police station in Odisha against the promoters of the film. Accordingly, the producer, director and actress have been named in the FIR.
According to details, the actress of the film used the word ‘Harijan’ in her dialogue. The film has been produced by Jhilik Bhattacharjee who is also the wife of a BJD MLA.
The petitioners have objected to the usage of such word in cinema and threated to organise agitations to mark their protest. They have also asked for halting screening of the film too.
