Cuttack: The Orissa High Court in a historic decision nullified the 31st State Film Awards 2019 and directed the state authority to declare new and fresh list of nomination.
Golmaal love
The single judge bench of Justice SK Panigrahi said that movies Khusi and Golmaal Love shall not be considered for any award in the fresh list.
The order came after a petition filed by filmmaker Bobby Islam challenging the legality of the selection.
Khusi
The judge in his judgement directed the authority to declare fresh list within one month.
Justice Panigrahi said that the content of movie cannot be called original in respect to Orissa Film Award Rules. The process and manner in which this impugned film are considered for selection is a matter of embarrassment and concern.
As per report Khusi movie is a remake of Korean movie and Golmaal love is remake of Carry on Jatta. Khusi movie stars Late Mihir Das and Kavya Kiran while Golmaal love starred Babushaaan, Tamannah Vyas.
The state government had declared the 31st State Film Awards 2019 on November 5, 2021
