Bhubaneswar: Popular Odia television channel Zee Sarthak is set to launch a new reality show, ‘Gruhalakshmi’, celebrating the strength, dedication and hidden talents of women across Odisha.
The show will premiere on October 10 and will be telecast every Saturday and Sunday at 9.30 pm on Zee Sarthak.

The reality show aims to bring the often-unseen skills and talents of homemakers into the spotlight. From managing household finances and caring for elders to cooking, organising the family and balancing traditional responsibilities with modern lifestyles, the show will showcase the diverse roles played by women in Odia households.
A unique feature of ‘Gruhalakshmi’ is its concept of bringing together married women from two age groups. Participants will compete in the categories of ‘Sana Bhauja’ (20-30 years) and ‘Bada Bhauja’ (31-40 years).
The contestants will take part in a series of entertaining challenges based on cooking, jhoti, puja rituals, hospitality, household budget management, resolving family situations and modern-day multitasking. The show’s central message is: “The one who wins hearts and conquers the world is our Gruhalakshmi.”
Another highlight of the show is the use of artificial intelligence-based games, which the makers claim is being introduced for the first time in such a format.
The show will also feature several familiar faces from the Ollywood industry. Actress Lipi Mohapatra and actor Pupinder will serve as judges, while Anisha Mahakud and Pinky Pradhan will mentor the contestants. Anchor Loria Mohanty will host the programme.
Speaking about the show, Zee Sarthak Chief Channel Officer Rahul Rao said ‘Gruhalakshmi’ is a humble tribute to the tireless efforts and sacrifices of women in every Odia household.
He said the show will celebrate how women preserve culture and traditions while simultaneously embracing modernity, supporting their families and pursuing their own dreams.
Rao urged viewers across Odisha to watch the programme with their families and encourage the women in their homes to come forward and showcase their abilities.
He expressed confidence that ‘Gruhalakshmi’ would go beyond being merely a television reality show and become a source of a new identity and inspiration for women across Odisha.
