Odia Action Film ‘Monster – The Ultimate’ to Hit Theatres on October 16

Bhubaneswar: Odia action film Monster – The Ultimate, featuring Aaditya Mohapatra in the lead role, is set to arrive in cinemas on October 16, coinciding with the Dussehra festive season.

Announcing the release date, the makers said, “This Dussehra, the roar of MONSTER will shake the big screen! MONSTER – THE ULTIMATE arrives in cinemas on 16th October.” The film is being positioned as a large-scale action entertainer, promising power-packed sequences, emotion and drama for audiences.

Directed by Sudhanshu Mohan Sahoo, the film is produced by Debraj Bidhar under the banner of Gopinath Motion Pictures, with Anima Mohapatra serving as co-producer. Aaditya Mohapatra, who also penned the story and screenplay, plays the lead role.

The film features an ensemble cast comprising Dibyajyoti Tripathy, veteran actress Mahasweta Ray, Krishna Kar, Swapna Priyadarshini, Rajj Rajesh, Choudhury Jayprakash Das, Mithi and Aakash Rout.

Aaditya, who made his acting debut with the romantic drama I Love You 2 in 2024, takes on a rugged action-oriented role in Monster – The Ultimate. The film marks a shift in his on-screen image as he steps into a character built around action and intensity.

The film’s music has been composed by Baidyanath Dash and Ashish Pradhan, while the dialogues have been written by Amit Kumar Dash and Pranab Prasanna Rath.

The makers had earlier unveiled the film’s first look, describing it as a story of a warrior and the circumstances that give rise to a “monster”. They have also highlighted the use of a robotic-arm film camera for stylised action sequences, which they have presented as a distinctive technical feature of the production.

The film went on floors in January 2026, with shooting wrapping up on July 5. With its October 16 release, Monster – The Ultimate is gearing up for a festive-season theatrical outing in Odisha.
