Trailer of Odia Horror Film ‘Dahaan – The Evil Within’ Released

Bhubaneswar: The trailer of the upcoming Odia horror film Dahaan – The Evil Within was released on Thursday, raising anticipation among moviegoers ahead of its theatrical release during the Ganesh Puja festival.

Produced under the banner of Amiya Pattnaik Productions, the film marks another new cinematic venture from the production house, with a story built entirely around the horror genre.

The teaser and promotional song released earlier had received an encouraging response from audiences, who had been eagerly waiting for the trailer. A press conference was organised on the occasion of the trailer launch, where the director, cast and technicians shared their experiences of working on the film.

Director Anupam Pattnaik, producer and actress Barsha Pattnaik, actresses Aurosikha Mishra and Dibya Mohanty, actors Sanoj and Samrat Mahapatra, and Navya Jaiti were present at the event.

According to the filmmakers, Dahaan revolves around two sisters and unfolds as a full-fledged supernatural horror story. The team said the film attempts to present a different narrative and create a distinct experience for Odia audiences.
Director Anupam Pattnaik has previously explored diverse subjects in Odia cinema, combining entertainment with social themes.

His film Pratikshya brought national recognition after winning a National Film Award, while his other films, including Trikanya, Karma and Mantramugdha, have also offered audiences varied cinematic experiences.

With Dahaan – The Evil Within, the makers are now venturing into a genre that has relatively limited representation in Odia cinema. The production team expressed confidence that the film will provide viewers with a fresh horror experience and leave a lasting impression.
The film is scheduled to release in theatres during the Ganesh Puja festival.
