Bhubaneswar: After a successful theatrical run, the hit Odia film KANGULA – Maa Kali Ra Danda Nacha is all set to make its digital debut on July 3. The makers have announced that the film will begin streaming on AAO NXT, giving audiences who missed its theatrical release an opportunity to watch it from home.
The film enjoyed an impressive run at the Odisha box office after its release on April 24, with the makers claiming that it crossed Rs 1.02 crore in gross collections within 12 days. The movie received a positive response for its unique blend of spirituality, folklore and drama.
Directed by Aswin Tripathy, Kangula is inspired by Odisha’s sacred Danda Nacha tradition and revolves around faith, sacrifice, mystery and the divine power of Maa Kali. The film brings one of Odisha’s oldest ritualistic traditions to the big screen through an emotionally driven narrative.
The film stars Sambeet Acharya in the lead role, alongside Suryamayee Mohapatra, Abhishek Giri, and Sritam Das in key roles. Actress Payal Routray also made a special appearance in the popular dance number “Anugul Ra Tukuli.”
Produced by Suvendra Kumar Malla (Litu) and Sambeet Acharya, the film’s music and promotional campaign—including the songs “Anugul Ra Tukuli” and “To Pari Haba Kie”—received an encouraging response from audiences ahead of its theatrical release.
Following its successful box-office journey, Kangula – Maa Kali Ra Danda Nacha is now set to reach a wider audience through its OTT premiere on AAO NXT on July 3.
