Bhubaneswar: Shrihari Motion Pictures’ upcoming Odia film Linebala is set to release in theatres on July 10. Written, scripted, and directed by Niranjan Behera, the film marks the first on-screen pairing of Sambeet Acharya and Swapna Priyadarsini.

Inspired by a real-life story, Linebala is a tribute to electricity line workers—the unsung heroes who ensure uninterrupted power supply despite facing immense risks and hardships. The film sheds light on their dedication, struggles, and the lack of recognition they often receive from society.
Director Niranjan Behera said the film portrays how line workers are sometimes abused and even assaulted while performing their duties, including collecting electricity bills. Despite these challenges, they continue to serve with commitment and sincerity. Through Linewala, the makers hope to encourage people to respect and appreciate these frontline workers.
The director added that shooting the film was a demanding experience. Several scenes were filmed during scheduled power shutdowns, while some actors climbed electricity poles to perform realistic sequences.
Producer Sushant personally oversaw the arrangements on set to ensure the authenticity of the real-life story.
To enhance realism, the film features several theatre artistes alongside the main cast. Pranaya Jethi is the creative head of the project, while lyrics by Baidyanath Das are expected to be one of the film’s key highlights.
The makers say Linebala will present audiences with an original and socially relevant story that not only entertains but also highlights the sacrifices of the unsung heroes who keep the lights on every day.
