Bhubaneswar: The Ollywood industry is set to welcome a fresh face this Raja season. Prangya Mishra, a young professional who works for a multinational company (MNC), is all set to make her silver screen debut with the upcoming Odia film Diary. Directed by Susant Mani, the film stars Ardhendu Sahu in the lead role and is produced under the banner of Adilaxmi Entertainment.

Interestingly, Prangya’s journey to the film industry was completely unplanned. Until a few years ago, she had no connection with the world of cinema and was focused on her corporate career.

Speaking to Odia Celebrity, Pragnya recalled how the COVID-19 pandemic changed the course of her life.

“I was working from home during the pandemic, and that gave me the idea to explore something new. I started modelling and participated in a Raja Special beauty pageant. From there, I began receiving advertisement and modelling assignments, which eventually led me to this film,” she said.

Working with Director Susant Mani

Sharing her experience of working with director Susant Mani, Pragnya expressed gratitude for the confidence he instilled in her.

“It was a pleasure working with Susant Mani sir. As a newcomer, I was nervous, but he constantly encouraged me and gave me the confidence to perform my role well. His guidance helped me a lot throughout the shooting,” she said.

Her Role in Diary

Talking about her character in the film, Pragnya revealed that she plays the wife of Ardhendu Sahu’s character.
“From the teaser, viewers can get an idea that the story revolves around a love triangle involving me, Ardhendu and Jasmine Rath. However, it is not a typical love story. The film has several interesting twists that audiences will enjoy,” she added.

Sharing Screen Space with Ardhendu Sahu
Pragnya also praised her co-star Ardhendu Sahu, who is associated with the project as both actor and producer.

“Ardhendu made me feel very comfortable during the shoot. He was extremely supportive, and audiences will get to see him in a completely different role in this film,” she said.

Mastering the multitask.

Balancing Corporate Life and Cinema

Managing a full-time corporate career along with acting was initially a challenge, admits Pragnya.

“As an employee of an MNC, I was quite sceptical about balancing both professions. However, my director and the production team were very supportive. They ensured that shooting schedules could be managed around my availability, which made things much easier,” she explained.

The debutante actress says she is enjoying every moment of the learning process.
“I am learning something new every day, and I want to continue growing as an artist,” she said.

Diary is scheduled for a theatrical release during Raja on June 12, 2026, and marks the beginning of an exciting new journey for Prangya Mishra in Ollywood.
