The film is being produced under the DM Films banner by producer Debasis Mohanty. The story, screenplay, dialogues, and direction have been handled by Niranjan Behera.

Actor Aman will be seen in the lead role, while Manisha and Debasmita will play the female leads. The film also features performances by Choudhury Jayaprakash Das (Tilu Bhai), Debu Brahma, Kunal, Suman, Prashant, Somu, Bhakti, Gopal, Mitu, Pritiranjan, Smruti (Natia), Debabrata, Dang, Lipsa, Vibhu, Shankar, and Manke in important roles.
According to the makers, “Nau Baiya” is based on an original storyline, continuing director Niranjan Behera’s tradition of presenting unique concepts in Odia cinema. The film promises a blend of comedy, drama, and emotions, along with a meaningful social message.
One of the major highlights of the movie is its title track, which has been sung by nine singers — Bishnu, Satyajit, Tariq, Sangram, Vaibhav, Chirag, S. Jitu, James, and Antara Chakraborty. The music has been composed by Bishnu Mohan Kabi.
As per the storyline, the movie revolves around nine eccentric or “mad” characters from different walks of life, including a teacher, leader, singer, lover, thief, drunkard, and Jatra artist. However, the identity of the mysterious “ninth madman” remains a suspense element in the film.
The story further explores how all nine characters fall in love with Dr. Abhilipsa Das, raising the central question of who eventually marries her. The filmmakers say the movie will answer all these intriguing questions in an entertaining manner.
Producer Debasis Mohanty informed that the drama portions of the film will be shot across various locations in Odisha, while the songs will be filmed at outdoor locations outside the state.
