Bhubaneswar: The Odia music fraternity joined the nation in mourning the passing of legendary singer Asha Bhosle, who died on Sunday at a Mumbai-based hospital at the age of 92, marking the end of a glorious musical era.
Among those paying tribute was singer Antara Chakraborty, who shared a deeply emotional message on social media. She wrote that she feels “beyond grateful” to have met the legend, touched her, and received her blessings. Calling the moment unforgettable, Antara said that sharing an album with Asha Bhosle will always remain her “biggest flex.” She signed off her tribute by calling the late singer a “Goddess” and wishing her eternal peace.
Singer Swayam Padhi expressed profound sorrow, stating that Asha Bhosle’s songs were “not just melodies, but emotions that lived in our hearts across generations.” He added that her timeless voice, from classics to soulful renditions, will continue to echo forever.
Singer Susmita Das also paid homage, describing Asha Bhosle as “not just a singer, but an emotion and a legacy that transcends generations.” She noted that every note carried life and every melody told a story, adding that her voice will remain eternal through her music.
Asha Bhosle’s immense contribution to Indian and regional music, including Odia songs, has left an indelible mark. While her passing has created a void that can never truly be filled, her timeless melodies will continue to inspire generations to come.
