Adding to the buzz, the cast and crew of both productions came together to promote each other’s films on the occasion of Odia Language Day, showcasing a rare spirit of unity in Ollywood.

The joint celebration began with a screening of Aafaa – Life After Life at INOX, DN Regalia, followed by Puyodakam at Shreya Cineplex. Several prominent personalities attended the event, including Pritiraj Satpathy, Naina Das, Gungun, and media planner Pranay Jethi, along with other senior artists.

Directed by Pritiraj Satpathy, Aafaa – Life After Life narrates an extraordinary story of an ordinary family. The film also marks the acting debut of Anmol Pati, daughter of noted filmmaker Ashok Pati. The performances by Kuna Tripathy, Naina Das, and Hara Rath have drawn appreciation, while the dialogues have been penned by veteran actor Kuna Tripathy.

On the other hand, Puyodakam, directed by Shivaprasad Mahanti, explores the struggle, spirituality, and rebellion of an Odissi dancer. The film, presented by Gungun Films and previously appreciated at international festivals, sees Mahanti handling multiple responsibilities including direction, screenplay, dialogues, and editing. The film has been produced by Gungun and Reena Jena.

The cast includes Gungun, Sritam Das, Gargi Mahanti, Abhisek Giri, Subhranshu Nayak, Bibhu Das, and Purnendu Dutta in key roles.
The simultaneous release of two films from different genres — combined with the collaborative promotional effort — is being seen as a positive sign for the Odia film industry. Industry observers expect both films to draw audiences to theatres and strengthen the regional cinema landscape.
